Stockport Council is supporting Foster Care Fortnight in a bid to recruit more foster carers in the town.

The local authority says there is a demand for carers who can offer a loving home to teenagers, sibling groups and children with additional needs.

Today the fostering bus will be parked at the Peel Centre in Stockport between 1pm-5pm and local shoppers will be encouraged to come on board and speak to local foster carers about fostering and what is involved in becoming a foster carer and what inspired them to foster.

One local foster carer is offering free face painting for anyone who visits the bus.

Paul Willett from the breakfast show spoke to Mark a foster carer with Stockport Council to discuss what is involved in fostering and foster care fortnight.
