Olivia Colman won best actress for her performance as Queen Anne at the Baftas

Period drama “The Favourite” has dominated the Baftas, scooping seven of the 12 prizes it was up for.

Olivia Colman won best actress for her performance as Queen Anne, while co-star Rachel Weisz picked up best supporting actress.

Netflix production “Roma” was the other big winner – with four prizes – including best film.

Rami Malek won best actor for his performance as Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody.

Meanwhile Mahershala Ali – who won best supporting actor for “Green Book” – says black actors have to be “professors of cultural studies” while white actors are rarely asked about race.

The 44 year old – known for his roles in True Detective and Moonlight – told Esquire he gave up a career in basketball, because he finds college sports “exploitative”.
