The RSPCA is warning against the use of sticky paper

The RSPCA is warning against the use of sticky paper, or fly paper, as it’s usually called, after a bird died from injuries it sustained after being caught in Stockport a week ago.

The animal welfare charity was called to rescue the bird from a stable in Ridge End, in Marple last Tuesday, 5 September.

Sadly, the swallow had to be put to sleep as a result of injuries sustained from being stuck to the paper. The charity says many people will not actually realise quite how sticky fly paper is and states it is opposed to its sale and use.
