The director of an Oscar-nominated short film about the murder of toddler James Bulger in 1993 is refusing to withdraw from the awards.

James’ mother Denise Fergus believes Vincent Lambe’s work takes liberties with the truth of the case.

But he says “we have the responsibility to try and make sense of what happened.”
