Stockport Council has secured £8.5m of funding from the Government’s Housing Infrastructure Fund

Stockport Council has secured £8.5m of funding from the Government’s Housing Infrastructure Fund.

Council bosses say they’ll use the money to kick start a new era of town centre living and make the centre an even more desirable place to live, work and play.

It’s believed the funding will help with plans to enhance underused areas of the town and build more than 500 new homes.
