People in South Manchester should report drink or drug drivers

People in South Manchester should report drink or drug drivers to stop them putting themselves and the lives of others at risk.

That’s the message from officers as Greater Manchester Police has released its latest figures for people arrested on suspicion of drink and drug driving over the festive season.

GMP says the force breathalysed or drug tested almost 1700 drivers between 1 December and 1 January.
Of those, 109 were arrested for being over the legal drink drive limit with an additional 77 arrests made for drivers who tested positive for illegal drugs.
