Group Exercise is a real favourite for many and is a fun way to workout, whether you are new to exercise or a seasoned group exercise pro! Group exercise classes provide a non intimidating environment particularly for those who are new to exercise, and are a lot of fun, as well as a great way to meet new people and make new friends.
There are many additional benefits too! As well as making friends you can also go along to classes with your friends and committing to attending classes with a friend not only helps with improved motivation and helps lead to better results, but it also increases adherence to an exercise programme as no one likes to let their friends down, do they!
Group exercise also provides a lot of structure and guidance, with an instructor on hand to help participants progress. All classes have beginner, intermediate and advanced variations of exercises and it’s amazing how quickly group exercisers can progress.
Life Leisure offer a fantastic range of Group Exercise classes catering for all fitness levels and abilities. Our friendly and fully qualified instructors are always on hand to welcome class goers and provide help to newcomers and we will motivate class exercisers to challenge themselves if they are already a regular class participant.
At Life Leisure we have a class for everyone and we can help you find the right classes for you. Some classes are more intense than others although it is up to an individual, as to how hard they want to push themselves to achieve their very personal goals. But always remember, small steps lead to great sustainable results.
For newcomers to exercise we recommend trying Body Conditioning, BodyPump, BLT, Zumba, Clubbercise and Spin type classes. Participants can start at a lower intensity or using lower weights and build upon this as their fitness improves and they feel stronger. These classes are fantastic and they allow you to push yourself using the alternatives the instructor provides in the class.
Of course we also offer more intense classes such as Insanity and H.I.I.T (High Intensity Interval Training) which are proven to increase the body’s metabolic rate. Adaptions for exercises in these classes are given and with work rest ratios you can complete as much as you want or as much as you can!
If martial arts boxing type classes is more your thing, Life Leisure offer a wide range of Boxfit, Boxercise and BodyCombat classes. These are all non-contact classes that use punching and kicking techniques and of course provide a great cardiovascular workout.
If you prefer a less intense class and a calmer approach to exercise we offer plenty of classes such as Yoga, Pilates and Tai Chi. These classes bring mind and body together, improving posture, strength and flexibility. PiYo combines both Pilates and Yoga and will take a participants training to the next level in terms of core strength and flexibility.
Group Exercise really is a great inspiring motivating way to exercise as instructors are fantastic at helping to guide participants to achieve results but also to come back week in week out because of the variety, structure, sociability and of course FUN!
