Cheshire Fire Authority is now seeking views on proposals to increase council tax by 2.99% for the next financial year

Cheshire Fire Authority is now seeking views on proposals to increase council tax by 2.99% for the next financial year.

It’s so that the precept charged by the Authority increase could be raised by £2.19 per year to £75.48 for a Band D equivalent property, rather than by £1.46 per year as initially proposed.

Bosses say the extra money’s needed to keep residents safe in the face of cuts to grants from central government.

The consultation will be open until mid February.
