£4million is to be invested in play areas and sports facilities in Stockport

£4 million is to be invested in play areas and sports facilities in Stockport, councillors have revealed.

It follows a 12-month audit of budget available for spending on parks and sports facilities.

Council bosses say some of the funding has already been allocated but not yet spent but the majority is unallocated.

The funding will now enable the Council to focus on a borough-wide programme of investment in play areas and sports facilities.
